Conclusion Information seekers no longer exist as merInformation seekers no longer exist as mere passive receivers of information. Social Networking sites such as Wikipedia provide the tools to allow dynamic, interactive means of sharing information and helping connect the dots between pieces of information. Researchers from diverse disciplines note that the skills required to participate in sites such as Wikipedia are the very abilities that librarians and scholars hope to inculcate in our educational endeavors. Peter Binkley notes, “What is most striking about this community from the perspective of libraries is that it is made up of ideal library patrons. These people are passionate about acquiring and sharing information” (Binkley 2006). Rosenzweig notes that the skills needed to create and research a Wikipedia article encompass the same research skills that historians hope to teach to students (Rosenzweig 2006). How do we enter this ongoing dynamic environment? Bringing information users into our spaces is not the only answer. When businesses scout for new markets it is all about location, location, location. As librarians, the context of where to meet and to open conversations with information seekers is changing. Social Networking sites offer power tools for connecting with audiences, embodying a new context for exchanges.es, embodying a new context for exchanges.
