Our specific interest is the analysis of basic statistics, the identification of the semantic structure and the age of the categories in this free online encyclopedia, and the content coverage of its highly productive authors

"This article presented, to our knowledge, the first semantic map of the English Wikipedia data. The map shows that when co-occurrence of categories within articles is considered as a measure of category similarity, categories cluster naturally revealing the content coverage of Wikipedia. The map also shows that the category structure is well maintained, although the bots and users involved in its maintenance have varied scope and intentions."
